One of the better pubs in Bedford, although it is now much more of a food pub than in its previous guise. Very good food though, if not cheap. Decent beer selection, based around Charles Wells, but guest beers are available.
This is the second time Ive been to this pub and the second time that the stuff have been extremely unwelcoming. The first was for a business meeting and the second was with my family. The first time I went there, the staff had no manners, they werent friendly. When the person who I was meeting with arrived there seemed to be no issue? From her arrival it was all smiles. Then, the second time I came with my family, thinking that the staff from the first time were just having an off day there was the same negative, rude attitude. Hate to say this given that we live in the 21st century but I honestly think its down to racism. Never going there again and wouldnt recommend to anyone of colour.
Came here with friends, to chat and enjoying their food. We ordered seafood, scallops & prawns. Absolutely delicious. The service & staff were good. It's a busy Friday, we need to get their attentions if we needed something, but they serviced us straight away. They have life music. Happy to come again.
