The initial assesment was excellent, we agreed hydrotherapy to be followed by referral for a hip replacement. This was the beginning of Sept. It took 5 weeks for the letter to get across the car park to the physio dept. I have now had the hydrotherapy, but in the meantime have deteriorated considerably. It is impossible to contact MSK to ask for referral for hip replacement, so my GP agreed to write and ask. I am trying to find out what is happening, but as is reported by many others, the phone cuts you off after a minute or less, emails are not responded to. As I live alone, and am barely able to get out of bed and struggling to cope in every way, I am desperate for a light at the end of the tunnel. How can I get MSK to at least give me an update?8 Jan 2019On 30 Nov I got an email reply saying I had been referred to the orthopaedic surgeon. No name of sender, just MSK. I felt reassured, until I got a phone call on 31 Dec asking me questions so that I could be referred to the surgeon. I pointed out that I had been told a month earlier that this had already been done. He muttered that it had been tried but failed. Totally unconvincing. As far as I can tell, I was told a complete lie in order to get me off their backs. (I was leaving messages and emailing every day in order to get a response). Appalling service.
Diabolical service. I have had multiple appointments cancelled, seen staff who didn't appear to have a clue what they were talking about. Been given contradicting diagnoses by each different specialist I have seen. I had to demand they did scans after 15 months of chronic back pain, then when they did book a scan they booked it for the wrong part of my body. This service also does not communicate with my GP's surgery which makes it difficult for me to get pain medications, when my GP doesn't even know what is wrong.I tried to progress things quicker by going back to my GP who told me that their hands are tied once you have been referred to the circle msk service. Not helpful that Circle MSK have bid for this contract when it would appear they cannot meet the demand. The phone lines are terrible you cannot get through full stop and I had to get my GP and PALS to chase up what was going on after waiting over 6 months for a physio appointment because they never got back to me after leaving multiple messages. I am now in the process of making complaints.Parking here is terrible especially if you have reduced mobility. Car park is also CASH only which reception could not help with so had to use the car park back in town. Not helpful with the excruciating pain I am in and given the nature of the clinic I would have expected better parking facilities.I really don't feel this service even warrants one star in my honest opinion. I have had to pay to go private in order to get any kind of help in the meantime whilst waiting for Circle MSK to deal with this.
I had my 2nd MRI about a month ago , no one has contacted me regarding the result . After numerous phone calls and a voice mail, I managed to speak to someone, who basically told me me I was for neuro review by a neurologist. I want to know and have explained what my MRI showed, surly thats not too much to ask is it ? Im still none the wiser and still in incredible pain ! Not a service that Im happy with .
After numerous terminated phone calls and unanswered emails, finally got an appointment, which went really well. Was told the hip would need replacing but at the moment I was too young? This doesn't make sense at 59, I am still working and would rather enjoy these years than the ones 15 years ahead, when who knows what may have happened. Anyway, was told Hydrotheraphy and painkillers would be the way forward for now. Since the appointment 3 weeks ago, absolutely nothing. Impossible to get through on the phone and again emails are ignored. Shocking, as a staunch advocate of the NHS, even I can now understand why people go private.
Three weeks since my MRI and no results. I was told by the MRI lady I would have the results in ten days. So I decided to ring big mistake I spent over an hour waiting to talk to someone then the call was ended. What I later found out is you will get an appointment or phonecall appointment through the post. Which all takes about two months. It would be helpful if I had been told this at the first appointment and the MRI team were given the correct information to pass on to you. However the staff at circle and the MRI team were great.
