Very poor communication. I went to have a small procedure and was not given any information on what would take place during the procedure. I have had the same procudeure under the NHS before so when i laid down I was waiting for local antiseptic to which i was not given any which was odd as the procedure I was having was gna be quite uncomfortable. I stopped them immediatley and said if this was explained to me in the letter or in person I would have not gone ahead with this! I have had to now re arrange. 2nd issue 2 days later for an MRI was told BMI could not do this and would have to arrange at another location. This was done over the phone. So with no letter or number to contact as they called withheld I went to Bedford MRI to be told it was not there. They then rang to ask were I was. I said i am at bedford, then told they cant MRI me now as I am late. I said I was never told where to go and i got no letter. They said a letter was sent. So i explained If i had a letter why the heck was I sitting at another hospital! If you are brave enough to use this unprofessional company make sure you do all the work for them and ask obvious questions that should be standard practice as is with the NHS. Will never use again!
Friendly staff that make you feel at ease.
Extremely professional and supportive.
I was very nervous about my initial visit but everyone made me feel welcome. I had to go in for a day surgery following this and all the staff were amazing. They made me feel very comfortable and were very thorough and supportive. My consultant Dr Mahran was fantastic and very professional. He made what I thought would be a stressful day feel much easier and I felt safe in his care and that of the health care staff.
The village setting & beautifully kept grounds & surroundings make this BMI hospital unique & welcoming. You're made to feel welcomed & cared about as a patient & I attend frequently as an NHS patient though it is a predominantly private health care hospital with clinics, day cases & longer term stays. The staff are professional from the admitting staff to the nurses & the highly qualified Consultants. The rooms are clean & each has a lovely view of the gardens & equipped with en-suite bathroom. A daily newspaper is always supplied plus a TV & wi-fi is available as required. Theatres & recovery are high spec, the theatre staff very caring & friendly as are the nurses in recovery. A very good menu of meals & light bites, drinks, desserts etc caters to all dietery requirements & dishes are fairly priced. Tea, coffee & soft drinks are plentiful & the catering staff very efficient & speedy! I can't fault BMI The Manor Hospital, Biddenham & whether your treatment is private or through NHS funding it has never been a hospital I want to get discharged from in a hurry. I always feel relaxed, respected, listened to & leave confident with my procedure & recovery. Each staff member excels at their work & I've never witnessed anyone dissatisfied, grumpy or too rushed off their feet to care. This makes for calm patients & happier staff & Dr's. Set in a gorgeous village it is quiet & feels almost like a serene getaway. Highly recommended for health clinics & medical/surgical procedures.
